I bid for and won the following coin. It is a lifetime tet of Alexander the great. I have wanted one of these for my historical figures collection and I am pleased with this one. It is far from perfect but that is okay. It is obvious it has been around a bit in its very long history. To me that just enhances the story of this coin. It also means I did not have to pay top price for an ef example. This one will do just fine.

I like the toning and I really like the Janiform vase. It is a shame it does not have the full name...but one cannot have everything.

Please post your tets of Alexander.

Kings of Macedon, Alexander III 'the Great' (336-323 BC). AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 17.00g, 9h). Amphipolis, c. 332-326 BC. Head of Herakles r., wearing lion skin. R/ Zeus Aėtophoros seated l.; janiform head in l. field. Price 6; Troxell, Studies, Issue A3. Some roughness, VF

Sweet pick-up, Andrew. Congrats. Not quite sure, however, how this guy merits placement in a historical figures collection. What did he ever do for history?

Seriously, lifetime issue tet! Nice!

When I sold off my Greeks years back, I let my two Alexanders go...a tet (below, in a grainy scan of the '97 CNG auction catalog from which I won it) and a drachm. I miss 'em.

Thanks @BobL I always appreciate your comments. I am sorry you let go of that tet, it looks like a great coin with a very strong portrait and an interesting reverse.

Great pick-up! I agree that the vase is way cool.

Nice addition.
I could collect just Alexander tetradrachms and be happy. There are countless types and ID'ing them is often a challenge.
