Last year I purchased a set of two with different finishes in a club auction and have been unable to find any information since.

They are in an engraved white plastic capital holder with a design of a schoolhouse or building of some sort on the other side with two dates signifying an anniversary of some sort.

Does anyone know what these are worth or have any further information? The internet was no help at all.

Unfortunately I don't have them in my possession right now and didn't get a chance to scan them.

Sorry if that's not much to go on.

I actually can finally be of some help here on CCF with this topic.
I was a member of that club. I have three. I think that's all they ever made unless they made some new ones after 1980 or so.
These I think were made in 1967 1968 and 1969. At the time I got these as a gift from the club, these were a complete set. To have the same numbered edges was kind of special.
The Metal Arts Co Roch. N. Y. is lettered on the edge and mine were a set numbered 210.
I don't know if they had 250 sets made or the first 250 were lettered edges or even 500?
I think that I remember being told there were 250 lettered every year.
There were more made but have a plain edge.

I thought it was neat that the First House in Tamaqua reverse was off of Greenwood St in the backyard of my friends house. When we were kids, we would roam everyone's yards playing "Army".
I only lived a stones throw away, well maybe three stone throws.
Wish I had a coin finder back then instead of playing Army huh?

The coal breaker was an actual rendition of one of several around this hard coal mining town.

The first one was a more generic reverse.

The Indian was chosen because the it is named after Chief Tahkamochk, or Tam-a-kwah ( The Tuscarora king of the Turkey Clan )

Anyway, here's my medals. They have been in these 2x2's for 40 years, I think they need a little care and re-housed.

The other medal you have may be a Vietnam Era Veterans Bronze medal. If it has a shield and sword on the other side of it. This isn't mine. I either lost mine or gave it away at some time. I received mine at the American Legion in Tamaqua, which was also the location where they held the meetings and coin shows.
These are snatched up rather quickly when found. I don't think there was a boat load of these made.

Much appreciated NickelGuy!

Originally I bought them because of the 1967 date and was confused by the significance of the 1801-1968 anniversary.

With the added information this all make more sense now and although nice to look at don't really fit into my collection.

You're welcome. You did me a favor as I re-house them in fresh holders. When you get to see yours again, check the edge for number and lettering. Please let me know the number. If it is 210, mine won't be all that special would they? LOL
If you don't care much for it, sell it on ebay. There's always a collector in Tamaqua will bid.
There are a lot of collectors in that town compete for local items for Tamaqua.
I don't live there. Moved away long ago.
