I went else where to begin with and found out some minor details. Firstly the writing on the coin says Schloss Berg ad Wupper. Wupper is a river and burg is a place in Solingen. The picture is of the castle 'Burg Castle' which was ordered to be built in 1133 by Adolf III. I don't know if any of that information is necessary and if not I apologise, first time poster here. Image has been included, naturally. Thank you for any help you provide, it is very much appreciated. How this coin ended up in my house is beyond me, buried in hundreds of 2p's in a bag for years on end.

@goku, first welcome to CCF. Second, can you please post a pic of the other side? I'm guessing you have some sort of commemorative medal or token, but seeing both sides would help.

Can do. Sorry, I tried figuring it out briefly before I had to shoot off, I'm use to the newer formats on websites.

Hopefully it isn't too blurry, I'm no photographer.
