I believe this looks like a newer type Black Beauty. There are several dings in it (bust and dome)that show no shiny metal coloring underneath. Has anyone else run across one? I have a 1959-D Black Beauty and they are very similar.
The color is right but there is no luster. I'm going to go with environmental damage. Maybe it was buried for a while or maybe someone heated it with a torch.
All appear to be environmental issues causing the darker toning.
I posted a thread a while ago on my search for a complete 'blackened' Jefferson set ... just like these. They are not unusual at all to find while roll hunting.
looks like a fountain coin to me ,I've seen this a lot in a get the coin in jar , in side a fishtank filled with water, but I can't say that's one .but that's my 2 cents
