The seller has one of 5 stars rating from a customer who was unhappy with the quality of the replica he received sinc it was a Reeded edge.

Should tell you all you need to know

That 1-star rating is for the product, not the seller. It's an ebay feature that is completely worthless in the Coins category.

The seller, however, has an 80% feedback rating because they never shipped a Wii. Doesn't appear to have any experience with coins.

Really you just have to read the lies in the description:

1) "Coin detail information and example images provided courtesy of Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS)".

2) "My husband is the concrete Foreman in San Diego California we pulled up some sidewalk in downtown San Diego to replace it and found it underneath the concrete"

I don't know if "care" is the right word. Some of us just don't know how.

The reporting of bogus items on ebay takess all of 20 seconds or so. Hit the REPORT ITEM "button", click on the appropriate three categories and report it. I cared enough to learn and hope that others may follow suit. The process has been described adequately in other threads, and it's fairly simple; this, if one cares to learn.

I don't mean to sound upset or accusatory here. It's just that so many of our members seem to spend a good dealof time making observations, submitting comments, etc. That's all well and good, and I enjoy those facets, myself. Reporting the bogus items on ebay takes no greater time than a typical CCF reply does.

I salute Bobby and a few other CCF members who devote so much time and effort to foil and take down the crooks. Just imagine how much safer ebay might be if more CCF members took action ...

I guess I can just agree to disagree then. Although I do see your perspective, my wish is you can see mine too. For example, my uncle is dying of cancer. Because I haven't learned of a cure for cancer, it doesn't mean I don't care for my uncle. Like I said, I just thought it was the incorrect word is all.

When I first joined this forum I posted a link to an ebay listing that I suspected was counterfeit in the 'report ebay counterfeits' section. My post was removed and I received a warning email that instructed me to review the rules of the forum.

I would have posted it in that forum so that Bobby would see it but I wasn't 100% certain it was fake based on the seller's crappy photos.

It's my understanding that folks who encounter counterfeits should post here and wait for nss-52 or Bobby to weigh in.

The ebay section of this forum seems tricky. So I leave it up to the guys that specialize in spotting out counterfeits.

As much as I enjoy and appreciate the CCF, I don't lay all my hobby concerns on this doorstep. I've reported a great many bogus ebay items, fraudulent and highly suspect listings over the years. Some of these, ebay has taken down, some not. From my humble perspective, it seems to be a hit-and-miss effort.

I'm surely not infallible, but by reporting suspicious listings, I at least have the satisfaction, if you will, of having tried. It pains me to think of other collectors being victimized and discouraged. If my modest efforts can, in any way, help level the playing field, the marketplace, it's worth the effort.

I applaud the efforts of and batting averages of Bobby, NSS-52 and others in the CCF. I just don't think that the reporting of ebay items requires anyone's approval, so to speak. That said, I have brought some dangerous listings, requiring closer scrutiny, to their attention at times. Their support and encouragement is most surely appreciated ...

@Nickel Guy ... I see your your point, and it's nice to care. Caring can be passive, I agree, but it can also take active forms.

This listing was ended by the seller because the item was lost or broken.
