Anyone try to detect a frisbee golf course? The state parks here all seem to have one.

I was in the park on Saturday with the dogs and there are a ton of people playing. There is a lot of bending down and sitting, seems like plenty of opportunities to drop stuff.

Detectors are not allowed in state parks here(NY) and in most states.

You can use them in some of the State Parks here in Oregon, but only with a permit and only to find modern coinage. Wander away with something 100 years old and watch them fine you and confiscate your detector.

You can detect in Ohio State parks with a permit if and where they allow. Anything of historical significance is to be turned in. Coins and jewelery are yours. They have those powered beach rakes here and it pretty much shoots the dry sand area. Check with the park you want to hunt and ask at the office. They signed me up and had the permit on the spot with no fee but you have to have one from every park you want to hunt. Michigan State parks some you can some you can't.

Those stinkin power rakes!

I went to a local beach hoping to test out my sand scoop. Not one piece of metal anywhere. Walked back and forth 50 times, and the metal detector did not beep once.

I wonder if they go through what they rake out.

The rules at michigan metro parks.

Permit required, Report all that is found to park office.
No Metal detecting in the farm area, nature center, nature trails or manicured grass areas. Also no metal detecting on the beach from memorial day to 2 weeks after labor day. Oh yeah they rake the beach after labor day.

That leaves where to search? Enjoy your hobby, signed metro park mgmt....

On behalf of my husband, they're Disc Golf Parks. ;) Not frisbee. Frisbee is a trademarked name. I'm married to an avid Disc Golfer.

Sorry to say I'm not a metal detectorer.. but the title caught my interest and I like seeing what you guys find at times. :)
