This unfortunate coin is someplace between a counterstamp and vandalism. I'm leaning more towards vandalism.

I don't have a scale to see if this truly was a Lincoln Cent stamped without a reverse. I'm going to assume someone removed it to stamp in his girlfriend Sherrie's name into it in 1957.

I am pretty sure it was ground down and stamped.

Holed 1932 Netherlands 2 1/2 Gulden and holed, corroded, dateless (1850's-1890's) Netherlands 1/2 Gulden; both bought near spot price.

These coins haven't seen the worst yet hohoho~

I vandalized a 1971 British penny yesterday by squashing it in a Penny Press machine at a local attraction called 'Diggerland'.

I cleaned the reverse of the penny before squashing it, and left the obverse with its circulation cameo toning. I'm quite pleased with the result:
