I would like everyone's thoughts on this coin? Coin weighs 26.3 grams, 38 mm wide, 2mm thick with the correct edge on the coin (or so it appears). Is this a contemporary counterfeit or an authentic coin from 1776?

Thanks, John! The coin is non magnetic, my main concern is the circumference of 38mm. Normal circumference is 40mm.

The die styles appear correct. From what I can see the edge looks pretty good. There are no clues that I can see that would indicate a counterfeit. I would suggest a Specific Gravity test or an XRF confirmation of gold in the silver to confirm age.
