This might be my first of this type (non Greaser). It looks like some of the examples that coop has in his March 23 post. What do you all think? edit added image Edited by CoinCents 03/28/2017 9:51 pm

that could be, it has a funky design to it so maybe some string. Here is the post that coop posted examples of struck through errors. http://goccf.com/t/283863

Looks like it was struck through a thread to me. Quote: Your closeup shows a scratch from vest around firsr and up to second, looks like an innie... Usually when a coin is struck through debris it leaves an incuse mark on coin. What the incuse mark looks like depends on what kind of debris it was struck through. Here is one I found a while ago

No Problem CoinCents. I am no pro that's for darn sure. Just happen to have a coin struck through something very similar.
Found a VERY beat up 1982D large date that was also struck through like this a few days ago, but it was in too rough a shape to keep. So in the Coinstar jar it went.
Edit: I actually posted a thread about the coin above over a year ago. I was just gonna post a link to it..but couldn't locate thread. Had to find pics in my uploaded photos list.

I wish I could upgrade my equipment, so I could get nice clear images like most of you. My coin struck through is nice and clean like yours no debris on the edges like you see with a scratch.

I found a cent once that I termed as an ugly cent. It was in a OBW roll. When I looked closer I could see it was some fiber that was altering the strike and stuck to the coin. Now we know what this could be:

Here is a closer up image of the date area, don't know if this helps make a determination.

Seems like I see this more often on proof coins. It maybe when they are packaged this happens to them. They seem so common, I just put the proof ones back into tubes.

Much better picture Coincents. Definitely struck through thread... smooth edges and not a straight line like a scratch would be. Nice Find
