It looks like PMD to me. which is post mint damage. Does it go in on one side and out on the other? someone could have run it over, or pried something open with it to cause the damage. If it were an error I would think it would be on one side and not the other because of the way the coins are pressed. An error implies that it was done by mistake, which to me it doesn't seem like, but I'm sure other opinions will come in as well. Glad you're looking and asking. Welcome to the forum!

It looks like PSD to me, which is post strike damage. It's impossible to tell if it happened at the mint or later, but it did happen after the strike.
