Super find yesterday! I didn't win the lottery or anything, but it kinda felt like it for a minute.

I was looking thru craigslist, and searching thru the usual overpriced stuff, when I came across a guy selling some coin's. I was reading the ad and it said he was selling 1976 bicentennial set, 3 old worn Barber quarter's, and 25 clad half dollars, for $40. If he didn't have a picture, I would have probably passed it over, but I saw the picture and noticed the blue cover on the set (silver proof!, 40%). Then I saw the halves, and could make out most of the dates, and they were all late sixties!

Long story story short, I called the guy, and was the second person that called, but the other guy couldn't make it that day, so I got them first. All 25 of the halves were 40%'ers!

I ended up getting over $90 worth of silver alone, for $40!

Not to mention the bicentennial set was perfect, just like the day it came from the mint! This set now proudly sits in my 7070. The barber's were very worn, but still okay coin's. One was a 1899, and the other two were early 1900's.

When I meet the guy he was showing me the coin's, and he said he was throwing in the halves just to get rid of them. He told me "they're clad, but there not in bad shape and there older". I don't think he knew about 40%er's.

My find's weren't as incredible as Bigcartwheels.....

But I was pretty happy

I have been getting some okay deals on ebay lately to. Mostly late at night, and usually on mixed lot's. Alot of time's they forget to put silver in the title.

nice catch, 80% of my local craigslist coin ads are people buying coins, and the other 20% is people selling them way overpriced
