Re-creation of April, 1865, the real story?

Beginnings of a linear gas bubble most likely, typical zincoln plating problems.

If it was copper with a similar raised area, it would likely have been caused by a die gouge. I'm not sure that adds a ton of value aside from being uniquely placed, but I'm assuming there would be more of a premium than on a copper plated zinc cent.

Nah, the threshold of a coin's value to be sent to a TPG is somewhat high. Usually the cost of the coin plus the cost of grading must exceed the value of the coin, and you'd want it to exceed by a lot. This coin might look interesting, but there's no added value because of the plating bubble. To most people, it's worth one cent.

For getting coins graded, people have different value thresholds. Some people will say a minimum value of $100, some people go even higher. What I might recommend is going to the ANACS website and signing up to be an "ANACS Insider" -- they apparently give out a few free gradings per year (Coin197 is the ccf member to ask about this). You'll still have to pay for shipping and variety attribution if you choose to go that route. A few free grades is a good thing to have in your back pocket for when you come across something of value. [I don't want to beat a dead horse, but I would not send in this cent for grading even with a free voucher because it will be worth less than the shipping costs.]

Not worth grading, these type errors do not carry any premium,as Crazub0 stated it correctly.

That will be a total waste of money - take the grading & shipping fees and buy yourself a collectible coin that actually has value.
