One of the facts I have wondered about for many years is the reason why Edward VIII chose his head to face in the same direct as his father on the coin issue that was never officially released. According to Peck he specially requested that this be so but no reason is given. Does anyone have any thoughts or even know the answer to this?

The way I heard was that he preferred that side's profile. This jives with the Wikipedia article that claims it was that he wanted to show the part in his hair.

That makes sense, I suppose, by all accounts he was quite vain.
