Were the series sets of ten ever sold in the case that holds all ten, or was the case just made available if you wanted to put them all together? In other words were the sets only sold as single coins or could you buy the set in the 10 coin case.
many thanks

You could buy the set of 10 Series One coins.
I believe I saw one for sale on ebay now.

My understanding is that the 10-coin case was an option that could be purchased separately from the coins. I checked a Charlton Catalogue that I have and it indicates that the selling price of the 10-coin case was $37.50 vs. a price of $55.50 for individual coins.

Actually, it was one of the first subscriptions I ever signed up for. If you got the subscription, you didn't receive the individual boxes. Only the coins, and the 10-coin presentation case.

It's been a frustration that I didn't sign on for the 2nd set. I only have the first, and a couple of the individual coins from the 2nd series.

Aviation Series was one of my all time favorite coin sets.

Subscribed to both starting back in 1990.

Obtained additional single coins and then created my own tribute to the "Arrow" hanging in my basement games room.

Yes, this tribute has 13 coins. It has the entire Series 2 coin set in it and the "Lancaster Bomber" from Series 1

I believe in 1998 during the release of the Aviation Series 2, Coins #7 The Argus and Coin #8 The Canadair Waterbomber, the RCM offered single coins that came with cardboard models of the planes. I did not purchase them since I had already signed up for the series. Three or four years ago I searched the internet and found one of each. Have not seen them online since.

Nice display, I only have the Arrow coin. I would love to see a Canadian Cold War Aircraft set; CF100, CF101, CF104, etc.

yes, makes sense that the 10 coin box was the subscription option. Great display tender4848. I would sure like to get my hands on those cardboard models.

I purchased the Series I coins as they were issued so received them in the individual metal cases. When the series ended I was offered the chance to purchase the 10 coin case which I did.
When Series II came out I subscribed to the series partially because they offered the 10 coin case for free as a bonus. I was quite disappointed that my coins started arriving in the cardboard sleeves and complained to RCM about it. It was a long phone call where I spoke to three different 'Supervisors', in the end they agreed to send me the individual metal cases at no extra charge.
