Starting doing some digging after seeing an ebay listing for one of these cards with what seemed like a very high BIN price. Now I'm not quite sure what to think but thought I'd share what I found. I have a copy of the 2014 Charlton Standard Catalogue Volume Two where I pulled the mintages for these coins (or "quantity sold") and I pulled the mintages of these coins from another website. Then I looked through all the recent ebay activity on these coins (active and sold) and made a list of the cheapest listing available and the least expensive listing sold in the last while. The numbers in brackets are the total number of listings in that category. Here is the table I made: Now it could just be coincidence but the coin listed with the lowest mintage in the Charlton Catalogue (Miga Skeleton @ 1672) doesn't seem to have much of a price difference when compared to the other coins above it on the list. However, the last five coins on the list don't seem to have much of a difference in mintage according to Charlton but have had no recent ebay activity with the exception of the Quatchi Parallel Giant Slalom coin which sold for significantly more than the rest. Is it possible that the mintage figures on this other website are more accurate than the Charlton Catalogue? Does anyone have the 2016 Charlton to see if they changed the mintage figures?

Charlton Vol Two 6th Edition 2016 shows the same numbers you have for collector coins but it also shows some of the coins with further sales mounted in pucks. Unfortunately, adding the numbers doesn't seem to come up with the Numista numbers you have. This was also another presentation that I don't see numbers for in Charlton at all. http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/vanco....WOaboeR1rb0 Oddly it says only 6k of the 16k were available from the Mint...so who sold the other 10k? The Olympic committee maybe?

Another one: ebay item 311960022188. Germany, again. BTW: RCM report lists 44 sold folders, as far as I know (without coins). I watch this coins since 2012. During this years I saw 5 complete sets on ebay and other platforms, plus 1 with missing "snowboard cross". As mentioned before, there is a big difference between the mintage listed in RCM reports and the coins available. Ok, the coins are not really beautyful. But an amount of 189 Euro is IMHO remarkable.

Sometimes you can get them for $7-$8 but they tend to go quickly at that price.
There are also the mascot pucks which are harder to find.

Neat coins, keepers for the kids. IMO, very low significance. If remember correctly, for years saw some of them at CC&C for below than CAD 20. Well, still they are RCM official coins, and affordable to collect.

Please allow me a different opinion.
Let me compare them with the "Birds of Canada" series. Birds on all coins, right? But when you look at the price, you will remark "small" differences between a "Nuthatch" or a "Cardinal" compared with an "Eastern Meadowlark".
Following the first post of this thread, I think, that there are some very rare coins in this series. And the common opinion is "low significance", because they look a bit strange. In addition, when you search them on the net, the first impression ist "wow, lots of them".
But that's not true for all of them. Simply try to find a "snowboard cross".
Therefore I wouldn't be surprised to see prices far over CAD 100 for some of them.
By the way, "snowboard cross": If you fine one for a fair amount, let me know. I'm still in search of this one. The search for this coin brought me to this place.

Gebe2000, I would support what you say.
The "low significance" will say about "Birds" series as well.
But that doesn't mean, that some of them nice looking coins. This my opinion, cause I mostly attracted by design of the coins, and less pay attention to the rarity.

I finally completed my mascot series. I had searched for this coin for years ... Was a lot of effort, and once again I was very happy to have good friends in Canada. One last comment about the numbers in the first post: I think this is a mixture from different sources. E.g., 306 for this "snowboard cross" can be found in RCM Report 2010, page 82, item "Quatchi snowboarding". But you can also find numbers for sold items in reports 2009 (page 51, 1,868 sold) and 2008 (page 55, 222 sold). The question is: Where have they all gone? My suggestion: Most of them were bought from visitors of the olympic games as gifts and souvenirs for kids. And, as mentioned before, they look neither beautiful nor precious. Guess, most of the rest could be found by digging through the garbage dumps around the world. Moreover, I don't think that RCM reports of this time are really reliable sources. As mentioned in other forums, numbers like 95 Oilers Mini Pucks or Goalie Masks are not really plausible. I bought my Oilers Mini Puck about 4 years ago from a german dealer who offered 10 of them. Around CAD 20, shipping included. There were also some Goalie masks (complete sets) around here. Do you really believe that 10 percent of the whole mintage were sold to german dealers? Or look at ebay.ca this days: 3 Maple leafs in the market now. 3 out of 50 at the same time? Sorry, I can't believe this.
