A rather attractive piece that'd seem to fall into the category of 18th Century (Late) British Provincial Coinage, and was probably valued as a halfpenny. The edge is marked "PAYABLE AT ROBERT MANNINGS IPSWICH" with a dot, "X X" followed by another dot separating the beginning and end of this incuse inscription. The establishment at which this could be redeemed appears to have actually survived to the present day.
