I was fortunate to acquire an 1809 silver medal celebrating the 50th anniversary of George III's reign. The medal was struck by Thomas Halliday, the famed Birmingham engraver. It features a brass surround, weighs 65.7 grams, and measures 48mm in diameter.
While white medal and copper examples are relatively available, I am unable to confirm any other silver pieces. Apparently, one is located in the Ashmolean Museum.
Anyone have any thoughts?
