I received the boxed roll of coins and this is what I get:
Loonie Roll (Double Header)
Quarter Roll (Double Header)
Dime Roll (Head of Queen and back of coin with leaf) This is okay
Nickel Roll (Both ends show the back of the coin which is the Beaver)
Toonie Roll (Coloured version on one end and the regular on other end) PERFECT
What is going on? Anyone else with a similar situation? Should I return and try for another? Help. Edited by New1954 04/12/2017 8:26 pm

I'm in the same boat. out of 5 rolls, 3 rolls were heads both sides. I know that there are x number of coins, and randomly some should be coloured, but as I'm not breaking these special rolls, (twice the regular price due to the 'special wrap') I think the least they could have done is make sure you got each roll with a head one end, and tail the other. I'm sending mine back with the hope of exchange - but my rep told me that they won't check prior to shipping - so I could end up with 5 x 2 heads.

@JGG I spent $185.00 plus HST to get these special rolls. I believe I should be able to see the back of these coins when picking up the roll. I don't intend to crack them open. Also, why do you care to reply if you are unable to contribute except to offer a flippant comment? I don't understand

If you're not happy with a product you've paid good money for, by all means return it. No need to justify it to anyone else, if RCM get enough of these returned, they'll get the message.

Wasn't meant to be flippant. I just didn't understand why it mattered, but I also don't buy rolls so I wasn't aware that collectors had a preference.

This stuff is packaged by automated machinery... you got exactly what you paid for - rolls of uncirculated coins in special wrapping...

With the premium paid on these special rolls, I wouldn't accept it. They are all presented in the special case as a showpiece for your collection. What is these to show if you can't see it?

@JGG I think for many it matters because unlike a normal coin roll purchased at the bank, these are meant to never be opened, so it's important to see the side of the coin that is special. RCM is aware that these are collectors items and are packaged and promoted as such, I can't see how they would not have realized this would be an issue.

It's also odd that for the first time since I collected rolls, has this been an issue. All of my 50c rolls special wraps - are all heads and tails. All my Olympic quarters from 2010 whether received from Petro Canada or the Bank - all are Heads and tails
This year however, including the stanley cup quarters - 4 of 6 rolls are heads only. So, yes, I think this is an issue - especially since we paid a premium + taxes for these. "I can't see how they would NOT have realized this would be an issue" Exactly - Well said.

Sorry to hear, New1954, about this mint's miss... Logically, it could be very simple to please the customer, by filling the rolls correct way, but...people confirmed - it machinery process.
My thought - go to the dealer, and buy the set, that has no "double-headed" rolls, replace (if needed) the Toonie roll with your perfect one, by creating the proper set for yourself, and the other, imperfect - return to the Mint.

Spoke to RCM today. The rep said they're getting many complaints, as they should. Everything's perfect with my set except for the 5 cent double head roll. The GITD toonie reverse is at one end and non-GITD reverse at the other. I received a double reverse plain wrapped Stanley Cup roll (glad I didn't order the special wrap), and normal head and tail for both special wrap 50 cent rolls. For those wishing to exchange...I called my CP today and was told that the one set available has 3 doubled headed rolls.

I think this new program is extremely lacking if they can't even give heads and tails rolls. if you're buying the normal plastic issue rolls it's understandable even when buying them on the secondary market, premium or not, but the mint has gotten a little greedy here in my opinion. I don't think this is too much to ask at all, it's fair to be upset and voice that.

Didn't seem to be a problem in the past. I rarely buy special wrap rolls, mostly the 50 cent rolls. Never had a double head roll.
Funny thing is, I got a special wrap double Stanley Cup roll - both ends had Stanley Cup. Other people complain they got two heads.
I wonder if it is problem with new packaging equipment since it rarely happened before.

it is totally automated, you are playing the odds.. if you got heads/tails then you got one that was as you wished, and it has not always been that way, you get what you get.. does anyone remember the farewell to the penny rolls, there were 20,000 of those and I don't recall a single complaint about the way the coins were facing, the roll is clearly marked with what you get..
