Great ploy to force people to unwrap...
How rare are these colored coins?

These colour units even at 10% mintage will never be rare due to huge mintages

They are selling standard 2017 circulation coins rolls, standard wrap, absolutely nothing unusual, no box for $220, when the face value is only $90. No, not RCM, but RAMhttps://eshop.ramint.gov.au/Rolled-.../710128.aspxnow you can see, that RCM's rolls, being overpriced, relatively cheap.

@Bigchip22 There are two sets of rolls being sold by the RCM: 1. My Canada My inspiration boxed rolls and these will be in circulation this year. TRY and find any though because they are extremely hard to find. 2. The second set of rolls are the boxed special wrap rolls dated 2017 which will not be in circulation for this year at all. I bought them both and I don't think they are a rip off. As silverwolf says: "To each their own"

It may take some time, but I think the 2017 classic design coins will be appreciate more than the my inspiration series from a value standpoint. However, the coloured toonies and quarters seem to be quite popular right now.

10000 sets is quite a few, since the premium pricing not many would be broken

It will be interesting to see what happens in 10-20 years with the 2017 classic designs.
Anyone who watch Bromberg on the TSC heard him comparing them to the 1991 quarter. Most of you will know that the 1991 25 cent circulation coin had a mintage of just 459,000 and they are nearly impossible to find in the wild. In all of my years of searching change, I have never found a single one and I own just two examples (in uncirculated condition). They sell for significant premiums.
So Bromberg's salesman rationale was that the 2017 caribou only has a mintage of 400,000 (40 coins times 10,000 sets) and therefore has the "lowest mintage ever".
Of course, there are a few quibbles with that thinking. Firstly, he seems to ignore that the 2017 caribou is available in other presentations like the maple leaf (MAP) and the uncirculated set so the mintage is more than 400k and is almost certainly more than 459k. And perhaps a bigger issue is that they are not circulated so virtually all of them will be kept in collections, uncirculated and in mint condition.
Back in 1991, people did not immediately start saving the coins. It was some time later that collectors realized the rarity and started hoarding them. Even now, a large percentage of people have no idea 1991 is a key date and even if they got one change, they would just spend it. It's safe to say that many of the '91 coins were worn, lost, defaced and likely even reclaimed via the more recent ARP program. Since it's mostly collectors buying them, I doubt the 2017 coins will suffer the same fate and therefore will not really be all the rare (command a large premium) in the future.
A better comparative might be the 1997-1999 caribous since they are of far lower mintages and I believe they only came in sets. They do have some premium but it's not crazy in the lower grades.
But, in the end, ya never know for sure what will happen in the future....

With regards to My Canada My Inspiration coins, I have found one dime in my change so far. I have not been able to find a nickel, quarter, loonie or a toonie for that matter. I ask at banks for their 2017 rolls of all of these supposed coins in circulation and not one bank has been able to help me so far.
I did manage to find 2016 brand new loonies in rolls though at banks and of course the new $10.00 bills for 2017. That is it!! Is everyone hoarding these or are they being sold only to dealers to sell with a premium? Who knows!

Look on ebay for the asking and few sale of the GITD toonie in boxes, there is no more bulk order dept. at RCM so only way to get full boxes are through bank or money courier connections

Quote: That is it!! Is everyone hoarding these or are they being sold only to dealers to sell with a premium? Who knows! I have same feeling, as was able to find only 2 Loonies in the change. But here my observation regarding "everything hoarding" Out of my 5 colleagues at the work, no one aware of new coins, despite the fact, that on January I sent them screenshots from the 2017 set. One more guy told that "some first in history glow in the dark coin suppose to come" - this is all what he knows. This supports the fact : "general public" doesn't care about any coins - NCLT or circulation, however some of them might be aware of GML / SML bullion, cause on monthly basis buy 1/10 oz GML from Scotia Bank (as example)
