Bromberg is on the Coin show right now on the shopping channel and showing all the coins in the case. He is showing heads and tails for all denominations.

OH MY GOODNESS. Bromberg, on the coin show, just opened a roll of the nickels and guess what? Not one coloured nickel in the roll. RCM has really messed up this time. He opened the toonie roll and only one coloured popped up. Oh me Oh my!!

@New1954 Thanks for the updates! So, it's even worse than I thought. RCM claims (approximately) 2:1 ratio of non-coloured to coloured coins, which is "approximately" 8 GITD toonies. The saga continues. P.S. It's actually the 25 cent coin that is "supposed" to be coloured, not the 5 cent.

@Looney4Numi Oh my goodness. I totally forgot that it is the quarters that are coloured but bromberg then accidentally opened the nickels thinking they were the ones with the colour. OOPS... I guess because of his blunder, I too thought this was another error on RCM's part. Thank you so much for catching this Looney4Numi. So My inspiration collection is okay because I do show in the quarter at the bottom a coloured one and on the toonie a coloured one as well. I will have to be more careful in posting.

An interesting update from the mint. I received my 'May' release catalogue yesterday. Included was a brochure for Canada 150 coins. Every picture of the set of specially rolled coins obscure the ends - there is NO end showing what so ever - thus eliminating that reason for the return. Essentially, they are telling you that you are buying face value coins, + a wrapper valued equal to the coins rolled in it.

Display cases for rolls of coins with fancy paper? Alright.. The RCM has now officially jumped the shark.

Quote: He opened the toonie roll and only one coloured popped up. Oh me Oh my!! I didn't see him open the roll but on the segment I did see in the second hour (and recorded), he had 8 loose toonies. At least 3 were coloured but he did not show them all. Did he open more than one roll and then show 3 of 8 coloured? That seems disingenuous as best. Of course, a 2:1 ratio doesn't mean the same mix in every roll. Maybe he just got an unlucky. lol He noted when he showed the loose nickels that of course they had no colour so he must have realized his earlier mistake.

@CC-Ottawa
He opened a toonie roll only once and I only saw one coloured but then again my eyesight without glasses is poor. I am glad you saw three on repeat. Again, I better put on glasses when watching TV. You are correct at CC-Ottawa that there were probably 3 coloured toonies. Thank you for catching this. You and Looney4Numi are right on top of your game!!!

Well, at least we confused collectors are not alone...lol

Is there a link by chance to watch them opening these rolls on TV. I would love to watch this!! You know were due for a MULE coin and these rolls would have been the best spot to set the seed, that would have created yelling FIRE in a Theater. Really funny how the Shopping channel got all the head/tail roll sets and the general public the scrap.
