The nickel looks like it's been belt-sanded, the penny could either be worn or it could be a Grease Filled Die.

The nickel is definitely post-mint damage ( PMD). The cent looks most like a partially grease-filled die that affected the devices in the 10-1 o'clock area.

It's rough to be in harsh circulation sometimes! penny looks very close to be a filled die strike.
