The Queen distributed Maundy Money to 91 elderly men and 91 elderly women today - the number of recipients is always equal to the years in the sovereign's age.

This is the first time the ceremony has taken place at Leicester and is the second major royal event at the Cathedral in recent years, following the burial of King Richard III in 2015.

It's interesting to read that each recipient also got a 2017 £5 coin commemorating the centenary of the House of Windsor, and a 2017 Isaac Newton 50p coin!
