What is a good method to clean a lot of dirty coins?

You need to be more specific. Are you talking about metal detector finds or circulation coins or what? In most cases, the answer would be to not do anything as you will most likely damage them.

Are you talking about dirt? Oxidation gunk? Residue?
All these have different solutions, but as bioke said, it's likely best to do nothing at all.

Don't clean coins unless you can not make out what it is. Such as coins found with metal detector.
