Ventilation hole? Would this be to cool down a hot coin?
Reminds me of the jungle boots issued to us in Vietnam. They had little ventilation holes in the arch just above the sole. We were told it was to let the water out after we had stepped in creeks, puddles, or craters. Only the Army would think that such drain holes work only in one direction.
That's funny! I'm surprised Old Dan's ears didn't perk up at the mention of using it as a fishing lure! I am curious as to how he can say it's unsearched though.... [:0]
Might be that Old Dan could use a coin that the wind would blow right through, in that country. I remember those "one way" ventilation boots all to well too Fred.
I'm afraid this idea was thought of a long time ago by a fisherman who just happens to live in Utah. It is tied on just ahead of the worm and acts as a flasher in murkey water. Excellant for catching suckers and large Carp, so he tells me. One of these day I bet he even uses one of those gold coins with the funny guys in long underwear. I'm sure some of you know of whom I refer.
