This is in a small lot I'm looking at making an offer on but I really can't tell what it is. It appears to be about the size of a Morgan dollar. Seller pics (cropped):

Looks foreign to me. The pics are completely blurry and crappy.

Yeah, that's all I have to go on. The other coins in the lot are all U.S. if that helps. It may not even be a coin at all.

Never seen one like it, thinking it's not a coin with that banner under the shield/coat of arms If it was a bit clearer to see details on shield, can't tell if fleur de leis od if even divided shield.

Nevermind, I found it. I should have paid a little more attention to the holder.

There are several dates for this piece. Here's the lowdown:

"The Mystery Car program was a long standing marketing program of the Gates Rubber. In its day, Gates hired mostly school teachers on their summer break to tour the countryside and stop at gas stations. Each of the Mystery Cars was equipped with a faulty belt or hose. Upon stopping at a local gas station, the Mystery Car driver requested some service under the hood - usually a request to check the oil or coolant level. If the person performing the service noted the faulty belt or hose and recommended a replacement the Mystery Car driver awarded the prize plaque to the winner. A photograph was taken of the winner and it was published in the Mystery Car Newsletter - which was sent out country wide. Since Gates headquarters is in Denver and because we also had the Denver Mint nearby there was always an abundance of silver dollars to use for our awards. The company probably was one of the largest sources of genuine silver dollars in the country for quite some time. The Mystery Car program eventually ran its course as independent gas stations were replaced by self-serve convenience stores. Gates then adjusted its program to be called the Mystery Shopper program whereby our shoppers would instead visit auto parts stores and made similar shopping requests and reward winners with similar silver dollar plaques."
