TheNickelGuy PUBLIC COIN AUCTION
Final Settlement Check ContestAs some of you may have read the thread I posted here about sending 6 tubs of coins to auction ...
http://goccf.com/t/280185&whichpage=3It's
LOCKED now but can still be reviewed.
Within that topic, there is more info on the lots and links to the actual auction with pictures.
I am having a little contest.
Deadline for guessing is May 25th 2017 at midnight Eastern TimeThe rules are: 1. One guess per person .....
unless you had commented at least once in that thread
BEFORE I posted this contest.
In that case, if you posted there BEFORE I posted this contest,
I am giving you a
FREE SECOND GUESS in appreciation for cheering me on during that time.
I am also giving a
FREE SECOND GUESS to young numismatists out there under the age of 18.
2. The amount you have to guess ~ is to try to guess
CLOSEST TO - WITHOUT GOING OVER! Like on THE PRICE IS RIGHT final showcase.
Guess will be for the
NET AMOUNT on my settlement check from the auctioneer.
So be careful to not go too high, or you're disqualified. Just like on The Price Is Right showcase!
Don't go OVER
3. I will post a picture of the check amount from the actual check here in the contest.
I am not buying a coin with my money, I am buying a nice riding mower to cut my grass.
Hints are ... I paid for labor, the auction hall rental, and advertising and 10% commission of the total sales.
These costs come out of the total winning bids amount. The check shows the amount I get.
4. Since I have some great Canadian friends here, this is also open to Canada but due to shipping,
I may have to substitute a better single or few coins in place of a heavier lot
should one of our Northern friends win.
We'll deal with that later, but this is open only to US and Canada members.
There are three prizes:1st Prize ( closest without going over )
4
Jefferson nickels I might have a little hard time parting with.
2nd Prize ( second closest without going over )
At least 30 circulated nickels a roll searcher would pull.
3rd Prize ( third closest without going over )
A smattering of 10 nice uncirculated nickles that may update your set.
Thank you for having fun with me!
Realistically, There is somewhere between $4,000.00 and $12,000 in value here, but I could be way off too. There's no way to tell. I will get whatever I get, might be less and it might be more.
I don't expect to do great, I could take a real beating, I might be pleasantly surprised.
I just don't know. I'll update when the check gets here in June-ish.
