Is this 1921 Peace dollar a VAM1H? Opinions or thoughts on this coin would be appreciated! Hope the pictures came out OK, I kept having to resize them to get under the 300KB limit.

I do not believe so, I'm not seeing the polish lines from the "E" to the neck in your last image.

Thanks for looking at it Dave. It actually does have some lines near the "E" on the observe as well as near the tail feathers on the reverse. I tried to post some more pictures.. it's really hard to capture. If this isn't a VAM1H, are those polishing lines and is this different than a normal 1921? It does look brighter than most 21's I've seen and I feel like it has a solid strike. BTW - this straight graded MS62 likely due to some hits on the reverse wings as well as on Liberty's hair visible in my 2nd picture.

It's a pretty decent strike for a 1921 but the polishing lines as illustrated at VAMworld should be quite prominent on the coin, appearing in the detail images you've posted. The best way to bring out polishing lines is to light them between perpendicular and a 45-degree angle to the specific lines you're trying to show. The ones between WE and the neck, and at S-O, should be the easiest to capture as "smoking gun" pickups.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Even if it's not a VAM 1H, are those polishing lines? I'd like to get this in another holder someday. Currently it is an Anacs MS62. The only thing concerning about the piece are some scratches on the hair (see picture two). They look fairly bad IMO so maybe that's why this got a 62 and not any higher. Maybe it got knicked up sitting in the coin bag. What do you think it would get if PCGS or ANACS graded it?

They are, in my opinion, absolutely die polishing lines. Not particularly uncommon as that, though. Won't say I'm 100% sure from these images, but I kinda feel it undergraded at 62.

If you want it (and others) put in PCGS plastic cheaply and have the VAM attributed on holder message Messydesk. He's doing a bulk submission right now. His email can be found at the bottom of his website http://www.Varslab.com. Do it asap though as I think he's very close to sending the bulk sub off.
