It's a modern reproduction of a Chinese cash coin. The detail of the characters and perfectly square hole makes it sure that this coin wasn't cast like they did it in those times.

There are sets of re-makes, all well defined and all alike in a package. It's a gift shop or novelty item but handy to ID cash coins.
The OP picture is the one for Shuen-tung 1909-1911. There are 10 coins in the set starting with Shun-chi 1644-1661. Online images of the set readily pop up on the screen if you search for images for "Chinese Old Coins".
