Here are clear pictures of a 1999-P Delaware quarter that show the reins from the horses' neck to the rider's hands wiped away. Part of the saddle pommel is also missing, and the very rear of the saddle is somewhat wiped. I have 2 BU examples. Thoughts on this coin?

My guess would be die abrasion post die clash. With coin in hand, can you find any indicators of a die clash?

That is really cool, I have a couple with just the reign missing. It occurs from the dies being over polished to extent that the design disappears.

Thanks for the replies. Druu, I found no indications of any die clash. Coin Cents, I'm happy you found at least one with just the reins gone, as to me it means yours was an earlier polishing, and mine came after another clash occurred. Also, that there are more out there. Mine came in an original roll. Thanks again.
