Thanks Buick. This is long over due and I'm pleased that the Mint has finally published the report. Better late than never I guess. Maybe the Access to Information Act actually works.

I found one interesting number. The 2015 1oz silver Maple of Prosperity (Carp) with expected mintage of 8888 but an actual mintage of 3202.

This one is probably the last of the Chinese History and traditions $8 and $15 coins dating back to 2007. It was first release in April of 2015 and has been archived on the Mint website for many months; I believe it was unavailable at the end of 2015 so it would seem the total mintage will only ever be 3202.

I have been hunting for this coin at a discount and have not been able to find it. In fact, I haven't even been able to buy it for issue price from most of the regular dealers. Gatewest is the notable exception and they show 'low stock'

I suppose it simply was not that popular but having all of the others in the series means I need this one. lol.

edit for spelling.

Correct me if I am wrong, but does the quantity number in the report represent the amount of coins that were produced or does it represent the maximum coins that were sold by the RCM? For example, the Great Lakes Superior coin had an issue mintage of 10,000 but in the report it states the mintage as being only 76, does that mean there are only 76 of these coins that exist?

It means 76 were sold in 2015. Check the report for 2014 and you'll see additional sales of 9916 so there were likely 9992 minted.

Odd one. The 2015 Sportfish Rainbow Trout is listed as 6612 sold. Max mintage was supposed to be 6500. Guess they got a few fish mixed up.

Buick, thanks a lot for this find.

After quick view, decided to get atleast some of the rarest, with final mintage less than 100 silver coins, till the public will realize, how extremely rare some coins are....
It was so cool order, remembering all 2007-2008 rare baby/wedding sets.
........
But why the selling price so low? Hmmm....
Ohh, now I understand, what CC-Ottawa said!!
Cancel, cancel quickly.
Why RCM couldn't make it clear ? Lol

Agreed Silveroid. It would be extremely easy for the Mint to mine their database and produce a book or even an add-on to their website reflecting final mintage, specs, description, images etc. But then Charlton and others might take a hit to their businesses.

What is somewhat frustrating is the Mint continuing to sell coins over a span of up to 3 years. For instance, the 2016 Vol 2 of Charlton shows presumed 'final' quantities for many coins based on the 2014 Mint numbers but now we are learning that additional coins were sold and reported in 2015 making the most recent Charlton catalogue incomplete at best and wrong at worst. This muddies the waters for collectors. Then again, collectors never seem to be the focus for the Mint.

They used to indicate "last chance" was 1 year after production began - that you could buy a coin. After that, any remaining would go to wholesale. There shouldn't have been any coins sold more than 1 year past production. We now see that isn't the case.

Thanks very much for letting us know about this, Buick.

2015 seems so long ago, for the life of me now I can't remember what I wanted to look up.
