inherited this. Definitely not U.S. Can anyone help identify this? Not sure what the "D" stands for. Tried to locate all denominations that began with D but couldn't find a match. My guesses so far are a Yugoslav Dinar, or Greek but can't find a match.
It feels and looks like silver.

It's a well! worn 1883 Hawaiian 1/2 dollar. Definitely silver and minted in the US

Bingo! Thanks so much. I inherited a small collection of world coins from my Dad. Turns out that most were just common. And the ones like this that could have had some value were, of course, well worn...

Actually this might be an interesting coin for collectors who collect P-01 grade. I'm certain this would qualify?

This coin is not PO-1 because there is no way of determining a date. That being said, I think it has some value over melt as a hole filler. Hawaii halves arent exactly cheap.

Hawaiian half dollars were ONLY struck for circulation in 1883. So it could possibly be graded as PO-1.
