Hi all! I recently sent in three coins to NGC and one of them was borderline (I thought) for the Earlybird tier because it could possibly be worth greater than the max $3000 value. I generally use the lower tier because more often than not the coin grades as I expected or is possibly cleaned. Apparently if NGC gets a look at a coin and thinks its worth much more then they will email you and have you pay for the next tier up (in this case Express which has a max value of $10,000) Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining in the least!! :) . I am just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what it might mean? Do they do this based upon the NGC price guide values? (Which are a bit inflated as most guides are)
