I'm not sure if I am posting this in the correct area.it is an idea that I think will be quite useful for people. I'm sure there are a number of us around here that have been on trips to foreign countries and have some left over foreign coins from our travels. Obviously these are not of use to one in their home country. Hmmm, what do with them? Also, there are others who have trips being planned/in the works, and could help repatriating foreign coins to their home. As such, this thread is to bring these people together. This thread is for those who are back from their travels to post an offer of their circulating coinage they have left over, as well as for those who would like to post a want for a certain country's/areas coins for upcoming trips.

When I was in the navy, they lost my sea-bag and uniforms and everything else I packed up. In there was a collection of coins I had collected from all the countries I visited. Haven't thought about that for many years. I wonder if they are stored in some warehouse at the taxpayers expense all these years?

To the CCF!

I believe most of us on this site have very wide collections. Most I know collect both their Home country and various World coinage. I know I do.

There are also a lot of collectors who give unwanted coins to kids in hope of sparking a new interest in the hobby. I am also guilty of this.

So as for finding something to do with our world coins we collect from our travels...I think we got it covered.

Very few circulating coins from overseas travel have a practical worth outside their country of origin that may be above zero.
Perhaps the Swiss 5 Francs may be a minor exception.

I love the wrinkled currency and worn tarnished coins brought home from my travels. They look great in the trip photo albums.

Secretly leave them in the reject bins of CoinStar type machines.

Make someone happy.
