Just bought at auction 9 rolls of OBW(well, bags) Lincoln Wheats and Memorials. All came in plastic tubes. Three of the nine were aftermarket brand tubes, Whitman's were OK. The coins in these 3 tubes were swelled solid in there, couldn't move more than top one after wrenching cap off with pliers. Cut a hole in bottom of the bum tubes and used hammer/punch/vise to force coins out. Knew I'd damage some, but only way to get them out.

Here's my new baseball coin Lincoln(Just like the Dollar), with a neat "die clash" on the reverse! WOW! L@@K!

Looks like Lincoln is preparing for the "Russian Front" ! Hope you didn't spend too much on them rolls!! Next time, put plastic rolls in 200 degree oven till soft then push the coins out!

Oven! Good idea! I was going to suggest putting them in the freezer to make the plastic brittle, but I suppose the impact of cracking it after it's brittle might still damage the coins inside.

Oh, forgot - wear oven mits or the "OV GLOVES" - 200 degree plastic rolls will make you drop them instantly!!

Yeah - that's a problem as warming things to room temperature from a freezer will cause condensation!
Rest in Peace
