Friends;

You can learn so much from what dealers pay for these large lots. If you notice Frank Robinson is bidding on quite a few and I respect him using his own ID to do this. I do as well so if my wife does not kill me you might see a few went to Sinski but I really should not now as it is finals week at school. I love when someone asks me where I got the coin and I send them the link to the large lot I bought, some players have the beat the house to make this fun and they know they did every so often.

But anyone buying these correctly, turning them and starting them for $1, relying on the purchase price and volume to make the end deal Ok selling them one at a time I am so impressed with.

Roma is only one of a great many countless auctions with countless large lots. All these ancients are so available now, especially with social media instantly connecting us all. I so want these all to trade like bullion at set market demand prices. I hated when I started years ago guys in the shows saying that "cute" phrase of "an ancient coin is worth what someone is willing to pay for it." That has to end and lots like below are changing the whole game for everyone as more and more just buy big lots and let the market supply and demand take over setting the price.

When Roma puts up new coins in a month the above link will not be the same coins by the way, but by Sunday you can see what these went for.

Oh and by the way, whatever you see the final price, multiply by 1.4 and that is what an American pays to get them to the door with fees and conversion. Then when you are buying you will know what we are paying per coin before you bid on individual coins. Doesn't this forum have the motto that Education is the Key to Collector Success?

Some very nice lots there. Not so familiar with the Greek coins, but most of the Persian and Roman lots seem to currently be at about 1/3 to 1/2 of what I would expect if sold individually.

Unless there's a big run on these in the final hours, Frank and the other bidders are positioned to get some great deals with potentially strong returns on their investments. More power to them. I beat out Frank on a lot of four Parthian tets in another auction last week. Sorry, Frank. (Not really )

Roma had technical issues and postponed the ending until May 3rd which I can see BUT boy will they lose money with the way they changed the ending! Having every single lot end EXACTLY at the same time? Having a lot end then the next every 10 second stimulates excitement and extra bidding and possibly overbidding as the need to win takes over in the mind of the buyer against common sense. This way that is all gone and people who bid at the last 10 seconds will not be able to bid on every lot the last ten seconds. So they will get less money in my opinion. Crazy way to end this.

Well that went quite well. There is a pretty rare mark Antony in one of the lots that was undervalued in my opinion. Remember with buyers fees, shipping, conversion from Pound Sterling, you multiply by 1.4 to see what we Americans pay to get these to our door. Anything that says Sinski is mine.
