I believe this is a Roman Coin. I have done some research but don't know the date, or exact country of origin.
OBV: it appears to be the Figure of Justice
(sword & scales)Latin Text: "IVDICIVM.RECTVM" Approx. translation/Reference: Judgment, Decision ,Opinion, Trial, Virtue, Right
REV: Looks like a Lion with Wings, unable to identify figure, LATIN TEXT: "PAX.TIBI.MARCE" Possible Translation: Peace to you Mark Not sure if all of my info is helpful considering that I am asking for the help. I really appreciate all help in directing me in identifying this coin.
Material: Hammered Bronze
approx. OD: .750
Weight: 1.3 grams

Just echoing antwerpen, I think we are on the right path here.

I found this Venice 5 Soldi which is very similar, but again made of Silver: https://www.NGCcoin.com/price-guide...duid-1594452

I'm sure someone can come along and definitively say what coin it is.

@NTS, I agree that your coin is from the Italian City State of Venice. Unfortunately, my books aren't being very helpful in that Biaggi's text ends with the 15th Century and Krause's text starts with the 17th Century--and he has absolutely no small coinage from Venice in my edition.

Based on the visible portion of the inscription in the obv exergue "I *", I feel a little better about Albert's attribution of a 2 Gazzetti from the 16th-17th Century than I do about Toby's attribution of a 5 Solodi from the 18th Century. Sorry that I can't be more helpful.
