This is a two part question:
1. I believe that this is a DDO for a 1971 philly.

2. I recall 1972 have some hub doubling that created DDOs in such a number that they aren't collectible. Is there other years that carry a doubling like the 1972?

Looks like this is probably 1DO-002 on coppercoins. Cool find. =)

Regarding the second question, there may be more than one answer depending on what you're thinking of. Some doubling is master die doubling, and will be found on all coins from that year. Naturally, that's not worth extra. Another possibility is that many very slight doubled dies exist for that year, which, since they're less dramatic, command only a small premium.

Looks like a DDO to me. Next step is to attribute it on CCs' site or Wexlers'.

My answer is many other years, to many for me to list at the moment. Maybe someone else has a list of all.

You mentioned 1972. I believe 1972 is from a Master Die Doubling. So it affected about half the working hubs, which trickled down too half the working dies created through the hierarchy seen below. The other half created do not show it.

Maybe wrong, but I believe the Philadelphia mint was making working dies for all three mints at the time and is why it shows half and half, pending how the dies were distributed to all three mints including proofs. Thanks, Doug.

I think coops image below illustrates the hierarchy better. Showing how one can be more common or less pending what level its created.

Really nice, Congratulations. I thought it was MD. I am going to have to look better at these going forward. I am so use the MMD on the 72's that I may have missed some good ones.
