Not to mention destroying any possible numismatic value the coin may have had.

Hope that wasn't one of the DDO's, 1960 small date, or anything like that.

I agree this is just damage to the coin someone did with a stamp and punched it into the metal after the coin was minted, it pretty much destroyed any numismatic value the coin had (not sure how much it had before but its not much over face now)

There are some people that collect counter stamped coins for fun, and holed coins also.
