Found this in a register I was counting down. I find alot of good things this way. Normally I would say someone sanded it down and altered it but you can see the raised edge on the front and misplaced lettering when you compare to another nickle. Any suggestions?

to CCF. It looks like post mint damage to me. It did not leave the mint like that.

Ive seen that done when people make etchings or carvings on coins. Perhaps someoe startrd to and lost interest.
