Small Error (?) On 1953 Wheat Penny

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/03/2017 2:25 pm Actually they are filled by the post breaking off of the die. The post would form the center of the mint mark. But with it broken off the die, it now shows that mint mark to look filled in. This applies to other devices as letters/numbers also. The void on the die is filled in with metal on the coin.
