Ok,
Here is the penny I was talking about in my other post..this was found in the same lot of steel wheats as the 1983 zinc penny.. this is dated 1934 is silver in color.. weighs 3.1 grams.. the surface of the reverse is fairly smooth and shiny .... the obverse has some discoloration that looks like siver toning..there is also a small area on the obvers that looks very similar to lamination defect.. as always all opinions greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance.. Robert

Need better pics but going by the weight it is a normal that looks plated. A 1934 cent should weight 3.1 grams, the plating would not add much weight.

I do know I need a better lighting arrangement.. Right now I am using a single light ring which mounts to the microscope lens.. and I believe it is LED .. I believe from what I have seen other people use is I need to have those spider finger looking lights that can be moved around and you can use multiple lights when needed.. what kind of irritates me about my unit is that it will not bring the entire field into focus.. you may be able to see in some of the photos that one side or the other will be out of focus.. very frustrating.. haven't yet figured out how to correct that issue..

Honestly I do not remember the make and model.. bought it about 5 years ago.. no markings on it except the camera .. as AmScope came as a set.. I probably need to upgrade the camera .. only 9MP .. it has two different lenses but I have trouble using one of them.. I literally have to lower the scope down so low that I cannot move the coin in order to get it to focus, but that is what gives me the most zoom..

AmScope is a good brand. Go to their web site and see if there are answers to your problems.
