Hello all. I have an 1971 DDO FS-101 AU55 ANAC slabbed cent in the old small white holder. It states simply "cleaned" on the last grading line of the description. Anyone out there who can describe the differences between cleaned and improperly cleaned in the desirability factor?
The coin looks strong for AU 55 I was able to get it at a "what I thought reasonable price" as I purchased the same variety in MS 62 RB from the same dealer. I'm stumped regarding the clean thing. Can anyone help? I'm not in the habit of buying problem coins but jumped on this one for the 2 for the price of one scenario.
Thanks in advance.

Why you wait for the experts to chime in.. I will suggest posting a photo.. not only can they answer your question on the value but can possibly confirm which type of cleaning was performed..

I know right. I'm afraid to post without pics as I might get my hair pulled out harhar. The ANAC cert. displays "no image avail." on both so can't use it to post. This is probably the wrong section to ask about how do I post pics i.e. what photo equipment I need to purshase etc.so will ask in what forum should I seek info/help on this subject?

I'm no expert on photo equipment.. in fact I am tryin to overcome a blur issue with my current set up.. I am using a fairly serious microscope/camera set up but obviously don't know how to use it correctly.. fortunately this forum offers a fantastic image optimizer tool.. if you click on the "tutorial" link at the top that will help out a ton.. honestly most phone cameras are sufficient for general coin picture taking until you get the set up that will be right for what you want to do.. for now I would just recommend using phone or camera, which ever you have and then use the forum image optimizer.. should be plenty to get you on your way..

@luvmyCAM, first welcome to CCF. Second, here is a link to the CCF instructions for uploading pics. As smseaxauer pointed out, even a smartphone camera can provide high enough quality pics to get most questions answered.

I look forward to seeing your coin!
