I stopped at a convenient store on my way home and this was what was in my change. I first noticed that the front edge didn't look right and thought someone probably just took some kind of instrument and just maybe carved it up out of boredom but upon further examination I noticed it looked thicker so held up to a normal dime and it was so I weighed it and the weight was 2.30...Looks to have gone and got a double top coat or possibly 3.
That's a normal dime with post-mint damage ( PMD) on the rim.
From what, I don't know. If it were in a parking lot I would expect marks on FDR's face. It could be intentional damage. You never know what people will do to coins!

Welcome and I agree also. When the coins are struck at the mint different amounts of pressure are used at the press sometimes. The higher the pressure the higher the rims. The metal between the dies has nowhere else to go but out toward the rim. Or the thin dime could have been struck with a weaker pressure or it's rims could have just worn down some with circulation.
Im going to see if I can't take a better pic and closer up to just make sure and I'll also take a pic of the normal dime front and back, also the thicker one weighed a little over at 2.30
