Could anyone tell me how Machine Doubling affects a coins grade.. does it matter how big the doubling is? Are proof coins judged more harshly for Machine Doubling than business strikes? Thank you in advance..

Most of the normal coins that are graded, the third part graders don't deduct for MD. It is probably more of a collector/invester preference/dislike. I know it would be a deal breaker for me. Others may not care.

Thank you Coop.. I've been going through a box of 60's proof sets to pull out coins to send to NGC .. I also do not like MD on my proofs.. I do like extreme MD on circulation pieces occasionally but don't think it should be seen on what is supposed to be a near flawless coin.. normal I wouldn't consider sending a proof with MD for grading but this one is a 60s with nice Cameo and otherwise very clean.. :(
