Bought this at Bidolot coin auction last week. I have never purchased an "ancient" coin as I am your run-of-the-mill US silver coin guy. Morgans, Seated Liberty's etc. Once I got it in my hands I immediately felt like I made a mistake. Any thoughts on this?

I'll wait to see what the others say, but it doesn't sit right with me. At a minimum, this coin has been very harshly cleaned, stripping away the patina. I have some reservations about the portrait and letter style, but I am not sure if I am being paranoid there.

I do notice that there is some residual green in the pits, which has me leaning toward a harshly cleaned and possibly tooled original

I believe the coin is genuine, but it appears to have been harshly cleaned and possibly tooled.
