I have these coins, one is gold and is really ancient with a holder attached to it to use it as a pendant with some ancient language (Arabic?) and the other is silver coin which is also really old. Could someone please identify these coins and tell me what are they worth?

Thank you for your help.

Nick

The silver one is what it says it is: a 1 rupee from British India, dated 1862 (though this particular coin was actually struck in 1866). And it is indeed silver (0.917 fine). CV probably around $20-$30.

The gold one is indeed in the Arabic language, and also appears to be from India, 1600's to 1700's, judging by the style. It's a bit hard to make out on the pics. With the attached loop, it won't be worth as much as a coin. It might even be a jewellery replica. Can you give us a diameter? That might help pin down a denomination.

"Ancient" does not simply mean "old"; it has a technical definition (anything before 500 AD or thereabouts), so neither of these are technically ancient.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
