This one is struck on a rather large and thick flan for a halfpenny. One of my favorite designs due to the accurately transcribed music forming a ring on one side, the music being for God Save the King. Cleverly done and an interesting musical and national theme while advertising for a music shop.

I've not seen this musical token before. It certainly ticks the boxes for me. Lovely!
Clearly, the intention being a statement of patriotism during the spat with Boney.

Thats really nice.
It wont be any violin maker I assume would of been top end due to the location and more than likely the building still there.
Its one of the main upmarket streets in london and were Baldwin coins are based with Stanley gibbons.

Superb piece.

Looks like brass rather than copper.

The Token Book ( Galata 2010 ) lists the copper version as EF £90 and UNC £220. Edge inscription mentions Lancaster London and Bristol. The brass one only receives a brief mention, but one struck in silver with milled edge is listed as EF £400.

Bell states the edge is plain. Are there two versions? He lists it as "scarce", with 1cwt being struck. Diesinker: Dixon, manufacturer: Lutwyche.
