I'd say your coin is EF40, Coppercoins.com lists at $2.50, if you could find a buyer at that price, no market to 'em. I've sold batches of 6-7 MS's for max $2.75 on auction sites, once...

Yeah thats a very different response from the others I got. A few other people said it was in the high end of AU maybe better in hand. And valued it at a 30-45$ coin in MS. So I was figuring at least like 20-25$ because yes this is the nicest one for the 55's. It isn't as what do you say, greenish brown in hand, its alot better looking in hand.

Value is what someone is willing to pay on a given day... you can check ebay completed listings to get an idea of current selling price http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...045573.m1684

Au58. A very nice early die state RPM. Nicely defined RPMs do bring a better price.

Having said that I have been selling RPMs for 7 years. I've sold several hundred. I can never figure out the value because I can sell an MS 1956 d RPM in MS for $2, and a month later an xf for $17. Sometimes it is supply and demand. Take the one I just mentioned. It went for quite a bit several years ago. Then a dealer found a whole roll of BU Reds and sold them one after another without a break. The price dropped from $50 down to $5 when he was done. It has never really regained it's original value.

Don't let anyone fool you, that coin with a clear second "d" ought to bring a premium over a simliar coin with a later die state.
