Came across a Barber half dollar for sale and trying to figure out the grade and value of this coin. What are your thoughts?

Well, it's listed as a PCGS Pr61, and is valued at $625 on the PCGS website.

Sometimes, the grade on the coin isn't always the actual grade and the PCGS value isn't always accurate

I see 2 sales of this coin with same date and grade on heritage. They both sold for almost exactly $600. Both coins look nicer than this one. I would offer $500 if I wanted it, as it looks toned differently on both sides and the scratches, especially the one on liberty's face, really stand out. I would rather get a nicer one if possible. Barber proofs aren't that scarce as long as you aren't wedded to a specific date.

Unless you are starting a set your money would be wiser saved and then spent on a better quality example as a type coin.

Looks to be an impaired proof to me. Too many hairlines. PF-55.
