I wonder how many of the "watchers" actually plan on making an offer on it?

You wouldn't happen to have about $175,000 I could borrow would you?

Haven't we had a discussion, led by billjones, on this coin before - or am I thinking of a different one? Anyway, doesn't look FH to me.

I've actually been watching that coin for a while just so I can get a notification for when it sells.

That exact coin has been submitted to PCGS three times, trying for a higher grade. One can obtain one in MS66 for probably one third of the price of this coin, and it would fill the void just fine.

They could opt for the MS-66, but for someone who is putting together a registry set, and looking for high-grade examples this could be one worth owning for them. The fact that this coin graded 67 FH on each submission should instill some confidence that it is correctly graded. The lack of CAC sticker is interesting though, especially for a coin of this value. CAC has stickered 3 other 67 FH 1916 SLQs.

I would be happy with MS65 SLQ. I just cannot imagine paying that much for a coin. Actually, I would be happy with a 1916 in EF condition. Most collectors can't even scrape up 5K or 6K to buy one in VF condition.
